Sugar Trail
Embark on a world-class mountain bike ride across the desert to the lowest point on earth.
Service Description
This is the ultimate trail for single-track enthusiasts. The ride begins in the heart of the Judean mountains about 15 minutes from Jerusalem, and ends at the Dead Sea. During just over 20 kilometers, you will descend from 700 meters above sea level to 470 meters below. Be prepared to ride through berms, banked turns, switchbacks, and drops, as well as alongside cliffs. Located in the West Bank, the Sugar Trail is not an officially recognized trail by the Israeli government and thus is not explicitly marked. This feature allows riders to experience an authentic desert journey because at some points we will follow the same paths the local Bedouins use to walk their goats and camels. Your guide(s) will offer explanations of the land's history along the way, including Biblical tales and geological wonders. Afterward, head to a local restaurant with the rest of the tour group to share experiences and prepare for the next adventure.
